Metal Gear Solid Theme - Eminence Orchestra

OMG, I saw this in one of my press release emails. Since SPAWNPOINT.COM is dedicated to PC gaming, I didn't feel right adding this to the 'News' section of the website...since this is a console game. Check it out, it's a must for any enthusiast that truly enjoys a wonderful score, and how music can and will make or break a video game.

AMAZING score, not in the overall scheme of scores, but for a video game that was A+ material. The band was top notch as well, their dynamics were dead on the entire time, absolutely perfect. Its why they get paid to do so I suppose. The brass section could have articulated a bit more during the louder passages, I know the idea was to be flowing, but like at the very end when its like "DA DA DA, DA DA DA" its supposed to punch you in the face, and I could have been punched a little harder.

Yes though, very good find. I believe I'm going to request this song to my conductor for us to play :) That and the Liberty Bell march I would like to play this year (Liberty Bell is the one from Monty Python, in their version it ends with a fart sound)

God I love music. If you really listen, it DOES make or break a game too, the scariest thing about resident evil is the music, just play it and pay more attention and you'll see. Same with loads of other games. Music isn't just for listening, its a language, it speaks to you even if you don't notice. Yes, that means I don't just like rock music, nerdy as that may be, I can enjoy listening to music like this too :) Thanks for posting this Bullet.

I just think it's the quality of the video that makes some of the portions sound a little less then they were say if you were actually there in the recording studio with them. As a violin/piano/bass player in my school's orchestra (which by the way has received some of the highest honors among all the schools in the Southern California area) I think that sounded terrific. The orchestra was perfectly in line with the band creating perfect harmony. Sounded great.

I've also heard the L.A. as well as New York Philharmonics play in Carnegie Hall and this Full Orchestra sounds to their level.

Great find Bullet.

P.S. MGS4 is going to be one of the best of all time. It is Hideo Kojima's last game in the gaming industry which he helped build with the MGS series and he will truly be missed. He chose to make it a PS3 Exclusive, a good choice. I don't quite remember his words, but they went along the lines of "why put such a great game on an inferior system".

BTW I forgot to mention how this is one of the best game scores I have heard behind some of the Final Fantasy's scores by Nobuo Uematsu who I think is the best.

I left out the part about how that was a fantastic hall. It looked gorgeous and I only wish I could see it.

Vudoo, we should talk sometime :) I play Trumpet, geetar, and the bass geetar. Played my trumpet up on Boston Symphony Hall, it was amazing. One of the greatest honors Ive ever achieved (going in my college essay, boo yah). Ive got to say, as far as halls go, BSH is the best (I could whisper and you would have heard it in california, and the whole thing is like.. gold.. The whole back wall of the stage is a GIANT organ.. and its just soooooo nice), but the hall in the video was very very nice as well.

By the way...I am offended that you called them a band. :P I used to play the Violin/Viola/Cello/Bass when I was younger...it was and still is called an Orchestra. I was also in Concert Orchestra...First and Second String. Its tough...and hard work. :P
